Why Choose a Pediatric Dentist?

Pediatric Dentists, like Dr. Valerie, specialize in the treatment and prevention of dental disease, as well as the overall oral health of children. Through extra years of schooling, training, experience, and certification, a pediatric dentist is uniquely qualified to treat the dental needs of infants, children, adolescents and those with special health care needs.

A pediatric patient not only has a different dentition than adults but he/she may have specific dental and behavioral needs that are unique to a child. These needs may include orthodontics, sealants, fluoride applications or home treatments, or just simply education in oral hygiene. In addition to treating existing dental problems, our office focuses on prevention through patient and parent education.

We like to feel that you and your child do not come to our office to have their ”cavities fixed” but rather to prevent them. We strive to provide all of the educational tools necessary for our patients to enjoy a cavity-free future.

Meet Dr. Valerie Esker

Valerie Esker, DMD is a 2006 graduate of Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine. After practicing in St. Louis, MO in a children's dental clinic for six years as a general dentist and as Dental Director, she became inspired to specialize in pediatric dentistry. She received her Pediatric Specialty Certificate from Children's Hospital Colorado in Aurora, CO in July, 2014. She is a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist and member of the American Dental Association and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. She enjoys reading, swimming, traveling and spending time with her husband, Dr. Michael Koch, a chiropractor, and their family.

Meet Dr. Nadareh Naseri

Nadareh Naseri, DDS is a 2018 graduate of University of Tennessee College of Dentistry and an East Tennessee native.  After dental school, Dr. Naseri completed a general practice residency focused on patients with special medical and dental needs at Swedish Medical Center in Seattle, WA and continued to specialize in pediatric dentistry at Bon Secours St Mary’s Hospital in Richmond, VA. She enjoys planning any sort of themed event, hiking with her dog (Moonshadow), fermenting kombucha, gardening, and spending time with her family.
